From October 17 to November 14, 2026, Vlaoi will transform Flanders into a 30-day experiential festival across eight major cities.

At the Nekkerhal in Mechelen, they’re opening the FTI Expo: a 5,000 m² immersive world of discovery where visitors can experience how technology, innovation, and creativity are shaping the future of Flanders. They expect more than 95,000 visitors: from young people and families to schools and businesses.

From mobility and space travel to health, housing, energy, industry, design, games, and digital culture—they showcase the future as it is being built today.

The FTI Expo brings innovation together in four major thematic worlds:

Innovations that help make our planet more resilient and sustainable. From precision agriculture and biodiversity monitoring to circular materials, smart water management systems, and new energy infrastructure.

🎨 Creative Culture

Technology and creativity converge in fashion, design, media, gaming, music, and art. Visitors will discover circular fashion, XR experiences, digital art, and festival technology, among other things.

🏡 Future Living

How technology is transforming our daily lives. From smart homes and new living arrangements to personalized medicine, digital learning environments, food innovation, and sports technology.

🔬 DigiTech

A look at the foundations of science and technology. From nanotechnology and artificial intelligence to biotechnology, supercomputers, and space exploration.

Share your own stories and experiences

For the Future Living world, they are looking for experiences that show how technology makes our lives more humane, healthier, and more sustainable. What breakthroughs will transform the way we live, work, learn, and care for one another?

For the Planet Solutions world, they are looking for experiences that show how Flanders is addressing major climate challenges. Visitors discover how technology helps us adapt, rethink systems, and restore ecosystems.

For the DigiTech world, they are looking for experiences that showcase the foundations of science and technology, from the most fundamental building blocks—such as atoms and cells—to the largest conceivable scale: the universe.

For the Creative Culture world, they are looking for experiences that let you feel, hear… and experience creativity and technology in fashion and design, entertainment, art, and culture.

Installations or Demos

As a partner of the FTI Expo, you’ll share your own stories and experiences. We’re looking for installations or demos that:

• Are hands-on, sensory, or immersive;
• Make complex data or technology tangible and understandable;
• Are visually striking and can be explored independently;
• Invite visitors to play, create, or experiment.

• Submitting fully developed content and experiences is free of charge
• Setup and delivery of installations: October 14–16, 2026
• Security: 24/7 provided by the organization
• Insurance: fully covered by the organization
